ARCHITECTURE

Point & Miller is a stunning project by Paul Brown & Architects (PB&A), one of New Zealand's most prolific architects of multi-unit residential developments. PB&A are renowned for their ability to deliver attractive, durable, high quality buildings that excel on every level.

The building has an efficient floor plan built around a single circulation core to the south. Each level features five apartments except for the ground floor which has car parking to the west, a lobby in the centre and two units with private courts to the east.

EXTERIOR

The development has a raw palette of monochromatic materials paired with a unique terracotta tile laid in a vertical pattern. Architectural detailing such as the extruded brick, exposed concrete frame and the black window frames add texture and articulation to its simple form. Red bricks from the original units on the site have even been repurposed into the boundary wall. The effect is a bold, modern building that exudes all the character and style of the surrounding suburb.

Interiors

Paul Brown & Associates have crafted stylish apartments with an urban edge. Natural-finished concrete walls, timber floors and black railing – with kitchens by Poggenpohl - combine to create a trendy but practical interior.

The efficient planning is enhanced by high ceilings and door frames. Open plan living spaces connect through large sliders onto decks or private courts. With a north-facing site, the apartments receive excellent sun and depending on the location, have stunning views of the Waitakeres, Waitemata Harbour or City skyline.

The final result is sophisticated high-quality interiors fitting of the amazing location

Kitchens

The Poggenpohl kitchens in Point & Miller are one of its highlights. Designed in distinctive +Segmento style and made in Germany, it has crisp lines, sleek linear handles and a monochromatic palette.

An exemplar of minimalist design, the kitchens feature Silestone black benchtops and splashbacks in a suede finish; white textured door-fronts with lasered edges; anodised aluminium handles and finger-recess channels. Appliances are Bosch.

There are two common kitchen layouts - an island in the two bedroom and an ‘L’ shape in the other units. Both provide plenty of storage and a functional space for preparing gourmet cuisine.

Bathrooms

The Point & Miller bathrooms have stunning dark grey tiles and black tapware that make the white elements pop. The mirror cabinet and large single-drawer vanity provide excellent storage, while the LED back-lighting and hanging pendant give extra highlights to this feature room.

The two bedrooms feature two bathrooms, master bedroom with ensuite. The studio, one bedroom and one bedroom plus study all feature a single bathroom.
